The SEAQUEST game is finally here! We invite you to download and play, explore the underwater world, and discover why seagrass matters. As you navigate the game, you’ll be accompanied by Shelly, a friendly sea turtle who guides you through the underwater world and helps you understand what you encounter.
The game includes three engaging mini-games. In the Memory Game, you’ll match cards featuring animals that live in seagrass meadows. The Hide and Seek game takes you to the “seagrass nursery,” where you search for baby animals—revealing how seagrass serves as vital nurseries for marine species. The Clean and Plant game is the most transformative: you discover a polluted ocean area, clean up the trash, and plant seagrass to restore the ecosystem. As you work, the water clears, pollution diminishes, and marine animals return. This game powerfully illustrates how pollution threatens ocean health and how seagrass can heal our seas.

Below you will find detailed instructions on how to download and install the game, as well as hardware requirements.
Instructions to download and install on a VR headset
1. Enable Developer Mode:
Before installing the SEAQUEST application, Developer mode must be enabled on the VR headset.
- Open the Meta Horizon app on the smartphone that was used to set up the VR headset.
- Open the menu in the top-left corner.
- Select Devices
- Select the VR headset that is connected to the app.
- Open Headset Settings.
- Select Developer Mode and enable.
2. Download and set up SideQuest:
- Download and install the SideQuest application on a computer.
- Connect the VR headset using the USB cable provided with the headset.
- Open SideQuest.
When the headset is connected, SideQuest may display the message: “Unauthorized: Allow in headset.”
- Put on the VR headset.
- A permission message should appear inside the headset. Select Allow to give the computer permission to access the headset.
After giving permission, the connection indicator in SideQuest should change from orange to green. This means that the headset has been successfully connected.
3. Install the SEAQUEST Application:
- Save the SEAQUEST VR application file to the computer.
- Return to the SideQuest application.
- Select the Install APK file from the folder icon, located near the Wi-Fi icon.
- Select the SEAQUEST application file
SideQuest will now install the application on the VR headset. Wait until the message “All tasks completed” appears at the bottom of the SideQuest application.
The SEAQUEST application is now installed on the headset.
4. Launch the SEAQUEST application.
- Disconnect the VR headset from the computer.
- Put on the headset.
- Press the Meta button on the right controller to open the universal menu.
- Select the App Library icon.
- Open the drop-down menu at the top of the App Library.
- Select Unknown Sources.
- Find and select SEAQUEST.
The SEAQUEST application will now launch.
Instructions to download and install on a tablet
1. Download the SEAQUEST Application:
Download the SEAQUEST Tablet application file.
2. Allow installation from Unknown Sources
If you have not previously installed an application from outside the Google Play Store, you may need to allow the file manager to install unknown applications.
- Open Settings on the tablet.
- Navigate to:
Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps
- Select Files by Google.
- Enable Allow from this source.
The exact names and locations of the settings can vary depending on the tablet and Android version.
3. Locate the Application File:
- Open Files by Google.
- The SEAQUEST application file will normally be located in the Downloads folder.
- Open the Downloads folder and find the SEAQUEST application file.
If the file is not located in the Downloads folder, use the search function and search for SEAQUEST.
4. Install the Application:
- Select the SEAQUEST application file.
- Press Install.
- The tablet may display a warning that the application was designed for an older version of Android. If this message appears, select Install anyway.
- If the tablet requests a password enter it to confirm the installation.
5. Open the SEAQUEST Application
Once the installation is complete, the SEAQUEST application will appear together with the other applications on the tablet.
You can now select the SEAQUEST application to open and use the application.
