The SEAQUEST game

The SEAQUEST game has been developed to put focus on seagrass and how to sustain and take care of seagrass. In the SEAQUEST game you are accompanied by a sea turtle named Shelly, who can give the player information about different objects the player comes across and helps with the mini games.

The game includes three mini games:

  • Memory game: The player plays a standard memory game, where the game cards displayed are animals that live in seagrass. The goal is to make the layer familiar with the animal life under water.
  • Hide and seek: The player has to find baby animals that are hidden in seagrass. The game is started in an area labeled seagrass nursery and the purpose is to communicate that many animals use the seagrass meadows as nurseries for their offspring.
  • Clean and plant game: The player finds a section of the ocean where the water quality is poor, indicated by the water being dark and dirty. The area is filled with trash that the player has to clean up and after the trash has been cleaned up, the player can plant seagrass. When all of the seagrass has been planted, the ocean quality improves and different sea animals will inhabit that area. The game illustrates that pollution is a problem for the ocean water quality and that seagrass can help reduce this.
